SONY ADDS SRG-120DS PTZ CAMERA TO LINEUP
Sony’s recent addition of the SRG-120DS brings its PTZ camera offerings in the SRG series to six full-HD options. The all-in-one compact design makes these cameras easy to install in various locations, ideal for use as either a primary or secondary camera.
The target market of the SRG camera series goes beyond just the traditional broadcast and security sectors. For example the judicial system has a growing trend of including visual communications such as remote testimonies, video arraignments, virtual prison visitations etc. The SRG cameras are capable of live streaming via IP, and two or more parties can communicate when the cameras are connected to a video conferencing device, making them suitable for this type of application.
The SRG cameras also suit the healthcare system’s increasing adoption of visual communication with its fast and silent pan and tilt, good for noise-restricted environments like live telecasts of surgical procedures to lecture theatres/teaching rooms etc.
And of course in education, lectures are increasingly conducted via live streaming or recorded for review, sharing, and self-study.
The SRG series features HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB2.0 and USB3.0 connectivity. The cameras are equipped with Sony’s View-DR technology to help manage exposure and accommodate high-contrast scenes for an expanded dynamic range. The brand new SRG-120DS is the latest desktop PTZ camera addition, equipped with 3G-SDI video interface.
The Sony SRG-120DS will be available in Australia and New Zealand from April 2016.
