Shure’s New MXCIC Interpreter Console Handles Multi-Language Needs at Senior ASEAN Defence Summit
Quality interpretation was top priority when leaders of the ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM) assembled at Thailand’s Hua Hin in April to discuss co-operation throughout Southeast Asia. Mighty MICE, Thailand-based conference equipment rental service provider and member of the Shure Conferencing Network (SCN) facilitated simultaneous interpretation with the first-ever Asia deployment of the latest, state-of-the-art interpretation solution from Shure – the Microflex Complete Interpreter Console (MXCIC).
Under the theme of “Sustainable Security,” senior officials from 18 countries attended ADSOM from April 3-5 to exchange on their continuous efforts in addressing security challenges and promoting regional stability. Professional event production and a flawless conference experience were paramount in this high-level meeting, which is why highly experienced rental provider Mighty MICE was selected to supply conferencing equipment. The SCN Member provided 10 units of the recently launched Shure MXCICs to provide simultaneous interpretation of Khmer, Lao, Burmese, Thai and Vietnamese languages.
The fully ISO 20109-compliant interpreter console provides comprehensive interpretation facilities, with three outgoing language channels and eight relay languages on a large colour screen. Controls come complete with Braille labels and audible cues to support visually-impaired users.
Interpreted language was distributed to delegates via 200 Shure Digital Infrared Wireless Receivers. Mighty MICE also deployed 45 conference units of the Shure DCS6000 and DDS5900 Digital Conference Systems to enable smooth dialogue between the senior officials. The systems were controlled and monitored wirelessly via a tablet, enabling Mighty MICE’s conference support team to manage and configure the system in real time.
Following this latest, highly successful deployment of Shure conferencing equipment, Mighty MICE will be sharing its extensive experience at an upcoming gathering of fellow conference equipment rental providers at the Shure Conferencing Network Meeting, taking place on May 14 ahead of the InfoComm Southeast Asia Show in Bangkok.
Antony Lovell, Shure’s Senior Global Market Development Manager of Discussion and Conference, says: “Our meeting in the Thai capital offers a golden opportunity for rental companies across Asia to learn from our knowledgeable members. We welcome all interested parties who want to reap the benefits of being part of our global network and grow their conference rental business.”
As sponsor of the SCN, Shure supports the network by sharing best practices and providing operational assistance from a team of dedicated conferencing experts. The global alliance of independent conference equipment rental providers also facilitates intra-network dry hire of equipment to enable execution of the largest conferences and meetings.
Shure will also showcase its latest conferencing solutions, the Microflex Complete and Microflex Complete Wireless Systems, at the upcoming InfoComm Southeast Asia Show from May 15-17 in Bangkok. The Shure booth will feature hands-on experience zones to demonstrate leading-edge solutions not only for meetings and conferences, but also AV conferencing, presentations and live sound.
Sharing its market and technology expertise, Shure is further hosting a dedicated AVIXA seminar during IFSEA, discussing the topic of “Meeting Audio System Requirements for National and Local Governments”. Additionally, the manufacturer is also providing a free in-person seminar on “Audio Basics for Meetings & Conferences”, offering attendees an opportunity to gain AVIXA CTS Renewal Unit and achieve accreditation in the Shure Integrated Systems Certification program.
