We are looking for the right person who is keen be a part of a high-tech team of AV professionals.

As the company expands, we have a position available for an AV Sales and Design Engineer. You will be required to work with clients in the design and implementation of data projection systems, professional sound systems, lighting control systems, audiovisual control systems and various other industry specific equipment. You will have attention to detail, a high level of workmanship, an excellent work ethic & initiative, excellent communications skills, excellent organisational skills and have some basic project management experience. You will also have knowledge in audiovisual systems and components, a keen interest in technology, good computer skills and the ability to work within a team.

Formal qualifications preferred but not essential.

PURPOSES OF THE POSITION
The Sales and Design Engineer is responsible for managing client relationships, driving sales and business development and overseeing project design and execution. The role also requires a proactive and collaborative relationship with the Business Development Manager to ensure processes are constantly reviewed to meet demand and to discuss strategic development and growth.

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is directly responsible to the Business Development Manager for key accountabilities and the achievement of Key Performance Indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Manage a list of existing clients, ensuring ongoing support and relationship building.
    • Maintain a strong rapport with clients built on knowledge, trust, and quality service.
    • Regularly communicate with clients to stay informed about current and future projects, ensuring the company is positioned to fulfil their needs.
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Build and strengthen relationships with existing clients while identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
    • Work closely with the Business Development Manager on strategy and process development to increase business.
    • Develop clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for sales in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and Managing Director, and play a key role in setting and meeting annual targets.
  • Design & Sales for Client Projects:
    • Meet with clients to develop a scope of works for their projects.
    • Produce quotes and proposals, and present them to clients, following up as necessary.
    • Submit pricing for large project tenders and produce system designs, drawings, and other required documentation.
    • Oversee larger client projects in collaboration with the Program Manager, ensuring projects are delivered to the expected standard, quality, and schedule.
    • Manage major projects from design to completion.
  • Develop, maintain and improve an intricate understanding of current and emerging Audio Visual Technologies.
  • Support for the Business Development Manager:
    • Support and Collaboration with the Business Development Manager on projects and business strategy development.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Respond to tenders, provide schematics, and contribute to communications.
    • Proactively contribute to the ongoing evolution of policies and procedures that will benefit the company.

OH&S RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all work adheres to safety standards.
  • Report any hazards or incidents in accordance with company procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong experience in client relationship management and business development.
  • Proficiency in producing quotes, proposals, and tender submissions for client projects, ideally in an Audio-Visual Setting
  • Experience in managing large projects and collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Knowledge of Audio Visual Technologies, Computer networks and IT systems.

  • Successful management of client relationships and acquisition of new business.
  • Effective delivery of client projects, meeting quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in sales and business development within the AV industry or a related field.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in overseeing large-scale projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and internal teams effectively.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in AV and IT infrastructure.
