
AV Installation Technician

Brisbane Sound Group, a leading provider of premium audio, lighting, and video installation services, is seeking a full-time AV Installation Technician to join our team. With a focus on installing, configuring, and servicing AV systems in various environments including venues, theatres, education, house of worship and corporate, this is a great opportunity for those passionate about AV Technology.
As an AV Installation Technician you’ll be responsible for on-site installations of audio, lighting, and video systems, as well as preparing materials in the warehouse including rack building and equipment preparation. Collaboration with project managers and clients to meet installation specifications is crucial, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and company procedures.
We’re looking for candidates with the following:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in AV system installation or a related field.
- A strong understanding of AV equipment, cabling, and signal flow
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a teamwork-oriented attitude.
- A valid driver’s license and construction white card are required
- EWP, Forklift, Cablers, and Riggers tickets desirable but not required.

Key Accountabilities:
- Perform on-site installations and attend service call outs as required, keeping within all Workplace Health and Safety regulations, company policies and procedures.
- Attend site inspections with Project Managers if required to provide technical support and assistance with the labor component of client quotations.
- Maintain accurate paperwork for all work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and variations required.
- In consultation with the Installation Project Managers, conduct a Job Safety Analysis prior to the commencement of each project installation.
- Liaise with the client on-site as required and relay any messages to the relevant Project Manager as required.
- Take responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep, testing and tagging of all tools provided by BSG and if necessary, make recommendations for new purchases or replacement as required.
- Participate in training for both new and existing products available in the market.
- Follow all installation department operating and paperwork procedures.
Key Selection Criteria
- Minimum 2 years experience in industry related field.
- Broad knowledge of P.A., Audio Visual and Lighting equipment
- Well-developed analytical & problem solving skills with ability to develop technical ideas from concept to completion.
- Soldering skills at a professional level
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a departmental team.
- Well-developed communication skills with the capacity to negotiate successfully and provide high quality customer service to a diverse client base.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Computer literacy in general office software and the ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work a flexible time schedule when required.
- Some occasional regional travel may be required.
- Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety Issues, duties and responsibilities as applicable to this position.
