Business Development Manager
Midwich (Melbourne)
The Business Development Manager – Southern states is responsible for driving strategic growth, building and nurturing key customer relationships, and further strengthening Midwich’s position as a leading value-added AV distributor.
The role is based in our Preston office, but regular local and interstate customer visits are essential to the role
The role requires a combination of technical knowledge, customer service skills, strong communication and the ability to drive sales growth in competitive markets
Candidates must demonstrate technical skills with AV systems and solutions to effectively support customer requirements and technical discussions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Sales Growth: Support the companies growth efforts by driving positive sales target attainment, in collaboration with the wider sales team
· Identifying New Business Opportunities: Work closely with Midwich’s top spending accounts (T1&T2) customers to expand the company’s AV product and service offerings.
· Building and Nurturing Relationships: Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
· End user engagement: Foster relationships with end users in order to shape opportunities and maximise Midwich relevance in overall deal scope
· Sales Strategy Development: Collaborating with customers to create and implement business development strategies that align with Midwich’s goals.
· Presenting Solutions: Delivering tailored AV product and service solutions to customers/ system integrators based on their specific product and vertical requirements. Including, but not limited to technical demos, sales pitches and product/service showcases.
· Pipeline Development: Identify opportunities to build an active sales pipeline and take the leading position in maintaining the pipeline accuracy
· Negotiation and Deal Closure: Take a leading position when required in negotiating larger quotes, deals and projects, within the boundry and scope of role
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with account management, product management, marketing, training and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of business development strategies and solutions.
· Reporting and Forecasting: Regular liasion with Sales Director, providing regular updates on business development progress, sales forecasts, and market insights.
· Brand Promotion: Representing Midwich at industry events, conferences, networking events, and trade shows to promote the company’s AV solutions and increase brand visibility.
Customer Feedback: Sharing customer feedback in regards to competitor activities/ behaviours alongside industry related technology emerging
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience in sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Minimum 3-5 years of business development experience with demonstrated success in driving strategic growth initiatives
- Essential experience within the AV (audio visual) industry with deep understanding of distribution channels and market dynamics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers
- Positive and solution-focused attitude
- A passion for personal and professional development
- A Team player
- Must have Australian work rights at time of application
