ABOUT THE AVIAS

Nominations are now open for the 2025 AVIA awards.
Now is the time to stake your place as a finalist in our new format awards

PLEASE READ THE PRELIMINARY INFORMATION ABOUT AWARDS ELIGIBILITY BELOW
PROJECT ELIGIBILITY
  • To be eligible for an award in the 2025 AVIAs, the nominated project must have been substantially completed in calendar year 2024 only.
  • The project must either be located in the Australia/New Zealand/Asia Pacific region, or have been primarily the concept of an organisation or individual based in the region.
  • All project stakeholders must approve the proposal for an award.
WHO WILL JUDGE THE ENTRIES?

As in previous years, the independent judging panel this year will be composed of seasoned industry professionals who have been nominated by AVIXA and the AETM.

The entire panel will assess every entry in all categories, (unless a panel member is disqualified from that category for potential conflict of interest). Retired AV Consultant and technical writer Derek Powell will act as a non-voting facilitator.

WHAT THE JUDGES WILL LOOK FOR

Our panel will seek out projects that display excellence in execution and clever solutions to tough or complex problems.

Winning projects will meet the client’s brief, exceed their expectations and set an example for the rest of the industry.

WHO CAN ENTER?

Entry is open to any organisation or individual involved in the AV industry. This includes: consultants; integrators; AV departments; production companies; designers; and manufacturers of products used in AV.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?

An AVIAs entry will raise the profile of your project and your organisation. AVIAs finalists and winners are heavily publicised within the AV industry through AV Asia Pacific, and the mailouts and web sites of the collaborating organisations: AVIXA, AETM and the Integrate Show.

They are an excellent way to both publicly acknowledge the achievements of your staff, and draw the attention of potential clients.

The list of category finalists and their projects is widely circulated, with many finalists, and each of the winners, being promoted through feature articles in AV Asia Pacific and its associated web sites and email news bulletins. The AVIAs will be presented in front of a big AV industry audience at a special event held in the Tech Talk theatre right after doors close on Day 1 of the Integrate 2025 show – drinks and nibbles provided.

HOW DO I ENTER?

Download the entry form from this web site, add any photos, video and other supporting material, then submit your entry package in an electronic format (e.g. MS Word file for the entry form, PDF for plans, and JPEG, TIFF or PNG for images).

Entry is free and closes at COB on Monday 16th June 2025!

ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE:
  1. A completed and approved entry form.
  2. High-resolution images of the job and examples of the work done (Make sure you have permission to use the photos). We will be publicising the finalist’s entries in AV Asia Pacific, on the AVIA web site, and at the AVIA Presentation Ceremony at the Integrate 2025 show in Sydney.
  3. To give your entry the best chance of becoming a finalist, you must include any illustrations and/or supporting documentation that might assist the judges to assess the quality and innovation of the project or product. This may include images, video, audio, diagrams and plans. The Judges will not be able to visit your project to assess its quality for themselves so please include anything that will help them to understand and assess your project.
CATEGORIES
  • A project may be entered in just one category.
  • The panel may adjudicate on the appropriate category for any entry.
  • The panel may elect not to make an award in every category or to combine categories, even if a shortlist of finalists has been announced for that category.
Best Application of AV in a Commercial or Government Installation

This category gives all consultants, installers and integrators the chance to show their wares. The install that best meets the unique demands of the project will win. It doesn’t need to be the most glamorous or highest profile project going, but it must be executed to an exemplary standard and go beyond the client’s expectations.

Best Application of AV in an Exhibition or Display

This category places the exhibition, trade show, museum, gallery and display specialists in the spotlight. Outstanding projects in this category will not only engage and amuse or inform their audiences, they will address the client’s needs for conservation, maintainability, sustainability and longevity.

Best Application of AV in Digital Signage

This category places the exhibition, trade show, museum, gallery and display specialists in the spotlight. Outstanding projects in this category will not only engage and amuse or inform their audiences, they will address the client’s needs for conservation, maintainability, sustainability and longevity.

Best Application of AV in Digital Signage

This category has been introduced to recognise the development of digital signage as a technology and art form in its own right. The judges will be looking for both excellence and innovation in the design, operation, flexibility and sustainability of a digital signage project.

Best Application of AV in a Production

This category is for the best that AV production has to offer, whether that be for product launches, corporate events, son et lumières, theatrical and concert productions, made-for-TV spectaculars, one-off events, etc. The winners won’t necessarily be the most lavish shows, but they will be the most elegantly conceived and flawlessly executed productions of the year.

Best Application of AV in Education

Education continues to push at the boundaries of what’s possible with audiovisual technologies. This category is for the best conceived, best executed, and most innovative audiovisual projects and installations in the education sector.

Budget

At the Judges’ discretion, any category may be further divided into budget ranges. Awards may not necessarily be made in every budget range for every category.

Enquiries about project eligibility and the requirements on the entry form, should be directed to the AVIAs Administrator [email protected]

Special Award – Exceptional Innovation in AV

In addition to the category entered, the judging panel considers all entries as candidates for the Exceptional Innovation in AV award, judging them against important industry criteria. They will be looking for innovation in areas including: Green AV; Net-centric AV; and AV/IT convergence.

This award is made solely at the discretion of the Judges and may not be awarded every year.
