Capture cards have made it plug and play to get a camera signal fed into any video conferencing platform. As a Technical Director I want the best image possible for all of our projects, ensuring the highest production possible for our clients. I frequently calibrate my capture cards to the spec of the project and wanted to share a few stills of what that looks like. Here I have a Magewell 4K SDI USB Capture device feeding a 4K UHD image out of my RED VRaptor XL into my streaming software. Through the Magewell USB Utility App I can verify that I am sending out the correct resolution, frame rate and color. Interestingly if I kept the settings at default it would pass through 1080p at 60fps meaning I am not taking full advantage of the 4K resolution and frame rate match. I love these Magewell capture devices for many reasons and power through USB 3.0 is one of them. #livestreaming #videoconferencing #production
