Suncorp Brisbane Headquarters (Heritage Lanes)

Pro AV Solutions QLD 

Pro AV Solutions partnered with Suncorp to create the most technologically advanced workplace in Queensland and Australia. Suncorp’s goal was to consolidate staff from multiple locations into one central hub while ensuring user-friendly systems and a consistent user experience across all spaces.

The AV system played a crucial role, facilitating user control of many facets of the tenancy, beyond simple AV.

The scope included 106 surface hubs; 19 large format meeting room LED displays; full Extron signal management; the world’s first Extron VCA deployment; 802.1x network security integration with over 2000 networked devices; 300 Shure Microphones; 240 Cisco Endpoints; 215 displays; 58 digital kiosks; BMS integration; and 18 months of installation and commissioning.

The Victorian Heart Hospital

Citadel Technology Solutions

Citadel Technology pride themselves on harnessing the power of innovation to revolutionize healthcare practices. Their work at the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) exemplifies this commitment. A traditional challenge in medical education – the live observation of surgeries – has been transformed by their AV network. Traditionally, training surgeons would gather around an operating table, straining for a glimpse of master surgeon’s technique. The networked AV solution eliminates this outdated approach, delivering live or recorded content from the operating room to any location with internet access. By integrating advanced AV technology, Citadel have redefined VHH’s approach to medical procedures and education, creating an immersive, interconnected, and technologically advanced healthcare environment.

Bendigo Law Courts

Umow + Wooster

Court Services Victoria (CSV) emphasised this project would be a template ‘court-of-the-future’, incorporating a new operating model. As consultants, Umow + Wooster held extensive stakeholder workshops involving client and design team members to resolve how technology would support operations across every facet of the project. To ensure a highly coordinated and effective outcome, a mix of techniques including virtual reality modelling, bench-testing and physical prototyping were used for the audio visual elements. The design approach supports the following initiatives which provide CSV with a high-performance, easy-to-use, reliable, secure and future-proofed building: the adoption of hybrid court hearings and e-courts; the multi-jurisdictional use of courtrooms; and infrastructure that is truly modular, able to be repositioned easily to suit new functionality.

Cornwalls Law + More: office renovation and upgrade (Melbourne)

Prime Technology Solutions 

The Innovation Lab that Prime Technology Solutions delivered is just part of a comprehensive fit-out. Yet it has been an exceptional success and a standout feature for Cornwalls, highly regarded by both internal staff and clients alike. Numerous individuals have visited the facility and have been impressed by its cutting-edge technology and innovative design, inspiring various projects that have come to fruition as a direct result. Some other clients have expressed interest in similar systems based on the same concepts, customised to meet their specific needs. The positive feedback and inquiries from clients have validated the success of Cornwalls Office Space and the Innovation Lab, reinforcing the team’s dedication to delivering exceptional solutions that meet & exceed clients’ expectations.

Meredith Connell Headquarters (Auckland)

ProVision Technologies

The Meredith Connell HQ is the embodiment of integrating biophilia and technology to create a modern working space, filled with real trees and the sounds of birds singing in the background. ProVision was tasked with providing connectivity and technological functionality of the highest degree to support this world-class working space. This project is living proof that technology and nature are not in competition but when purposefully designed and flawlessly integrated can deliver a space that is both relaxing and functional. The AV fit-out for Meredith Connell is an Audio-Visual deep dive into a possible future that is greener, clearer and more connected with what truly makes us human.

FINALISTS: BEST APPLICATION OF AV EDUCATION

Australian Catholic University National Medical Simulation Project

Pereira Wilson 

Pereira Wilson were engaged directly by ACU to work client side as the project manager responsible for a national rollout for all ACU medical training facilities – 12 buildings, across 7 campuses. A key outcome of the project involved the migration from an on-premise analogue system to a cloud-based SaaS model. The uplift of technological capability across all campus sites has allowed ACU to establish itself as a leading service provider of interactive learning and teaching of medical procedures. Ease of use and consistent experience are driving improved teaching outcomes, increased student engagement and staff satisfaction. These successes and facilities are helping attract new students.

TAFE Queensland Robina Campus

Videopro

The new Robina Campus has allowed TAFE Queensland to provide a state-of-the-art facility for cookery and hospitality, early childhood, business, and fitness, sports and recreation students. At any one time there can be 1500 to 2000 students coming through. The campus is spread across five floors and Videopro fitted out 56 rooms including classrooms, flexible learning spaces, study and conferencing booths, meeting spaces, lecture theatres, a hairdressing and barbering salon, a beauty salon, a gym, commercial training kitchens and a restaurant on the top floor. The lobby features a ceiling projected art-piece which acts as a huge wow-factor upon arrival. The emphasis for the Robina campus was to maximise flexibility for teachers. Accordingly, Videopro implemented Vivi throughout to allow teachers to present anywhere within the facility without being tied to a cable connection.

North Melbourne Football Club “The Huddle”

Mott MacDonald

This may be a unique entry for a category typically dominated by more traditional K-12 and tertiary projects. The facility, built for the North Melbourne Football Club, is the first in Australia to provide a truly immersive AFL themed STEM learning environment, completely engaging students to feel part of the event. The Game Day program, for which it was built, challenges students to work together in teams to problem-solve various challenges which upskill them in the process. The world-class systems carefully incorporated into the Game Day experience create an immersive environment that enables students and the wider community to learn and grow. The integration of STEM with elite level professional sports, offers a unique point of difference and captivating approach that both captures student’s attention and inspires them.

The Western Australian Museum Boola Bardip

Diversified

Diversified, as a leading provider of Audio-Visual solutions, specialising in creating immersive and innovative experiences, were entrusted with the task of designing and implementing the Audio-Visual installation for the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Their team utilised advanced projection mapping, interactive touchscreens, immersive audio systems, and augmented reality to create a multisensory experience for visitors. By leveraging these technologies, they were able to seamlessly integrate AV components with the physical environment, providing a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that complemented the museum’s narrative and artefacts. Additionally, the team’s expertise in content creation and curation ensured that the AV elements were carefully synchronised to deliver a cohesive and impactful storytelling experience. By seamlessly blending AV elements with the museum’s narrative and artefacts, the installation aims to enhance visitor engagement and create a truly unforgettable journey through Western Australia’s rich history.

Old Perth Gaol Projection System

The Electric Canvas 

The Electric Canvas designed and installed an innovative projection mapping solution for the heritage-listed Old Perth Gaol, situated in the central courtyard of the WA Museum. Their initial challenge was finding suitable projector positions from a technical projection standpoint that not only satisfied heritage legislation, but also the museum’s architectural and aesthetic requirements. After several rounds of study work, a solution emerged to bring the projectors indoors to WAM’s ground level corridors with 6-metre-high floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the Old Gaol and the Dance Circle below. The Electric Canvas was able to meet and overcome the many challenges that faced them throughout the duration of the Old Perth Gaol projections project. Whilst other companies may have been unable to provide the services required during WA’s strict Covid-19 lockdown, their team found a way to navigate through it and successfully installed, programmed and commissioned the system on time and on budget.

Heritage Lanes (Brisbane)

Ci Group

Heritage Lanes at 80 Ann St Brisbane is a newly built, landmark 35 level building offering 62,800 sqm of premium office space. AV technology designed and installed by the Ci Group has been cleverly deployed to enhance its appeal and value. A giant outdoor LED screen has been positioned above the rooftop to make the building iconic within the city skyline, while on the first floor an expansive ceiling LED installation and ambient audio system makes a visit to the publicly accessible mezzanine level an unforgettable immersive experience. Given the result, Heritage Lanes would have to be one the best examples in the world of how a few million dollars spent on digital display can make a $800m building far more desirable as a corporate address. To the developers, the ROI is self-evident.

Salesforce Headquarters (Sydney)

Diversified

For the Salesforce Tower project, Diversified employed state-of-the-art technologies and techniques to create a captivating and immersive experience. The team expertly installed four massive LED walls, which combined form the largest indoor LED wall in the southern hemisphere. With a 4-millimetre pixel pitch, this ensured an optimal viewing experience across the expansive faces of the LED walls. These cutting-edge technologies and techniques were crucial in delivering a visually stunning and technically flawless audio-visual installation for Salesforce Tower. The LED walls serve as a dynamic platform for showcasing digital content, effectively communicating Salesforce’s brand message and creating a memorable experience for visitors.

Springvale Urban Screen

EQUANS AV Technologies

The Springvale Community Hub is the latest multipurpose community facility in the City of Greater Dandenong, Melbourne. EQUANS AV Technologies were engaged to supply and integrate the latest audio-visual technology throughout the outdoor public spaces, including the Urban Screen and its associated sound system and event infrastructure. The VuePix 6.5m x 3m screen weighing 2,200 kg is attached via a custom motorised metal frame, which allows it to be swivelled out to 45 degrees from its closed position. This ‘show’ position allows a larger crowd to have an optimal viewing experience from the surrounding landscaped spaces. Sensors on the screen ensure it automatically returns to its closed position if pressure or wind is detected above a certain level. Together with the state-of-the-art Fohhn FMI beam steering PA system with 5.1 surround sound capability, the installed system provides a truly cinematic experience around the Springvale Community Hub.
