AMX Announces New 4K60 4:4:4 Twisted Pair & Fibre Boards for Enova DGX 100 Series

Harman Professional Solutions, the global leader in audio, video, lighting and control systems, today announced a new line of 4K60 4:4:4 twisted pair and fibre I/O boards for AMX Enova DGX 100 Series A/V matrix switcher enclosures along with accompanying transmitter and receiver end-points.

New AMX DGX 4K60 input and output boards, transmitters, and receivers offer government entities, universities, and corporations the ability to distribute full 4K60 4:4:4 video end-to-end securely over long distances. Included in the 4K60 suite are a total of 8 new products including AMX DXLink 4K60 HDMI Transmitters and Receivers and AMX Enova DGX 4K60 Input and Output Boards, each available in either twisted pair or fibre variants.

The fibre models offer the utmost security and support for extended distances, while the twisted pair models are ideal for cable runs of 100 meters or less. This new suite of products is fully compatible with the existing Enova DGX 100 Series enclosures, allowing an easy path for users to upgrade their systems to the highest-quality, most secure technology without investing in an entirely new system architecture.

New DGX 4K60 products offer 4K 4:4:4 video at 60 fps over a single fibre-optic cable, providing uncompromised image quality in critical applications like government operations centres and hospitals where every pixel matters. While many of today’s computers and displays already support the latest HDMI 2.0 standard, transport and switching products often only support the older HDMI 1.4 specification, limiting the system to 4K at 30 fps or reduced colour information. These new cards and end-points allow users to access the full potential of their source and display devices.

Security focused installations will benefit greatly by using new DGX 4K60 fibre products. Previously, high-security operations had to settle for either reduced resolutions over a single fibre connection or full resolution over multiple fibre runs. DGX 4K60 products deliver 4K60 4:4:4 video over a single fibre or twisted pair cable with full support for HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. 

Ease of use is paramount in all applications and the new suite of 4K60 products continues the DGX Series’ commitment to providing intuitive configuration and setup. When added to a DGX system, these new products will be auto-configured, and settings can be customised using the mobile-friendly web-based DGX configuration tool. Hot-swappable cards allow for easy reconfiguration with zero downtime to the rest of the installation, allowing users to upgrade their systems in phases. Furthermore, with audio, video, Ethernet, and USB 2.0 signals carried over a single long-distance cable, equipment can be installed neatly without cable clutter.
