The Opportunity
We are hiring two Audio Visual Event Coordinators, here, you’ll manage all aspects of AV event delivery, ensuring that events run smoothly and meet the highest technical standards. You’ll collaborate with event organisers, manage equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and supervise casual staff, all while driving continuous improvement in AV processes and practices. This role offers a mix of technical expertise, organisational skills, and customer engagement to support UTS’s diverse event needs.
A Day in the Life of an Audio Visual Event Coordinator at UTS
- Collaborate with event organisers to understand requirements and provide tailored AV solutions.
- Plan and execute AV setups for events such as lectures, conferences, and performances.
- Supervise casual Event Production Technicians, including training, rostering, and performance management.
- Maintain and manage AV equipment, ensuring functionality through stocktakes, maintenance, and procurement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during events to ensure minimal disruptions.
- Develop and maintain AV processes, documentation, and operational guidelines for consistent service delivery.
- Manage AV event budgets, from quoting to financial reconciliation.
- Ensure cybersecurity measures are implemented for AV systems, working with IT security teams.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Experience: Proven expertise in planning and delivering AV solutions for diverse events, with strong technical skills in operating AV equipment and video conferencing tools.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple events, logistics, and resources while adhering to strict timelines and budgets.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing requirements, last-minute adjustments, and unforeseen challenges with composure.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues effectively during live events.
- Customer Focus: A commitment to understanding and fulfilling the needs of event organisers and attendees.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in AV setups and event logistics to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations to ensure safe and compliant event setups.

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
