About the Role
We are looking for a driven Sales Manager with the ability to build strong relationships with key business partners while managing their territory’s sales budget. Reporting to the Channel Manager for Musical Instruments (MI), this role is responsible for maximising the sales and distribution opportunities for Yamaha’s MI channel in QLD.
The successful candidate will be able to leverage marketing and promotional activities to facilitate constant restocking of dealerships and generate maximum results. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for selling premium products and is looking to evolve in a high-performing team.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role:
- Achieve sales budgets on a monthly and yearly basis across MI product categories, while maintaining sustainable long-term sales growth
- Build strong relationships within the territory through regular visits to the existing dealership network and respond to all dealer requests in a timely manner
- Evaluate and develop existing and new distribution channels in collaboration with the National Sales Manager
- Analyse the territory’s sales statistics against budgets and previous sales figures
- Perform ongoing market analysis of the music industry to identify and capitalise on new sales and distribution opportunities as well as identify competitor activities in the market
- Prepare weekly call schedules and monthly reports
- In collaboration with the Marketing & Communication Manager, develop local marketing activities within the assigned territory and implement strategic promotional campaigns with dealerships
- Assist with the co-ordination of dealer training, shows, dealer promotions, trade and consumer events some of which may be held outside of the assigned territory
Your skills and experience:
- A thorough understanding of musical instruments, or professional audio, related technologies, trends and buyer behaviour
- Proven sales management capabilities with premium products
- Clear communication skills with a proven ability to work with teams
- Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently, particularly with remote working a major part of this role
- Excellent time management and demonstrated self-learning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate business strategy into a set of innovative, actionable marketing and sales plans
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
