RIEDEL ACQUIRES TELE COMM SPORTSERVICE

Germany’s Riedel Communications has acquired Swiss communications specialist Tele Comm Sportservice AG.

Riedel expands its involvement in international winter sports.

An official International Ski Federation partner, Tele Comm Sportservice specialises in supporting international ski competitions and other winter sports events, and has been a major provider of communications solutions at live events for more than two decades.

“Tele Comm Sportservice is an ideal fit for our portfolio,” says Riedel Communications Switzerland general manager Roger Hess. “The regional strengths and core competencies of this established company in radio and communications, especially with regard to alpine skiing, offer us a perfect vehicle for driving continued growth.”

Riedel now holds 100 per cent of Tele Comm Sportservice shares and with the acquisition, becomes the largest provider of wired and wireless intercom solutions in the Swiss market. The company says the deal will enable extended involvement in international winter sports.

“To continue to grow, we have chosen a strong partner that can support our core portfolio and enable us to future-proof our business plan,” says Tele Comm Sportservice CEO Kurt Waldmeier. “Riedel Communications, with its global network, provides us with the framework to develop our business across new markets and varying economic conditions.”
