VIRTALIS EXPANDS TO SOUTHEAST ASIA

UK-based virtual reality and advanced visualisation businesss Virtalis has expanded into Southeast Asia, opening a base of operations in Malaysia.

Virtalis has opened an office in the Intermark Tower in Kuala Lumpur as part of Malaysia Multimedia Super Corridor strategy that aims to transform the country into a multimedia hub by 2020.

The office will be headed up by Zairul Isham Abdul Malik, who joins from Virtalis’ local partner and minority shareholder Thames Technology.

Virtalis managing director David Cockburn-Price, explained, “In my recent trip to Malaysia, everyone I met was fantastically keen to start working in 3D and VR, in the marketplaces we’ve already made our own in the UK – engineering, academia, aerospace and power.”
