Audio Visual Technician

Tara Anglican School for Girls is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technician to support the delivery and operation of audio‑visual services across the School’s learning spaces and events.

This is a hands‑on technical role at the heart of school life, supporting classroom technologies and delivering high‑quality sound and vision for assemblies, performances, productions, and community events.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Innovation and Technology, the Audio Visual Technician is responsible for:

  • Managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment across classrooms, halls, and performance spaces
  • Providing technical set‑up and live operation for school events, assemblies, and productions
  • Supporting staff with classroom AV technologies and providing guidance as required
  • Monitoring equipment condition, coordinating repairs, and maintaining accurate AV records
  • Working collaboratively with staff to ensure reliable and high‑quality AV delivery across the School

The role requires flexibility to work outside standard hours on occasion, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with notice and consultation.

About You

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience operating and supporting audio‑visual systems in live event, educational, or multi‑user environments
  • Strong technical capability across sound, vision, and basic lighting systems
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot faults and implement practical solutions
  • A reliable, organised, and detail‑focused approach
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and respond to changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a service‑oriented mindset
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, the values and ethos of a Christian school
