About the role
To support our continued growth , we are seeking an Audiovisual (AV) Support Technician to join our team to service our Melbourne based clients.
This role would see you joining our service desk, supporting the full range of Audio Visual solutions we design and implement for our customers – ranging from huddle rooms, Boardrooms, video walls to complex control systems. It may also see you assisting the installation team in deploying these types of installations as required. This would include pre-commissioning, installation works and some basic commissioning activities.
Whilst this is an Audiovisual centric role, we are a technology driven business with a focus on IT. Therefore, we’d welcome potential candidates with a strong IT capability, and/or previous IT helpdesk experience, and who are looking to expand their own knowledge and learn new skills in AV and Video Conferencing. We will provide the necessary AV training for the right candidate.
The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively with the rest of the business, customers, partners, and suppliers alike, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They must have a high attention to detail, with a growth mindset. Our customers and partners are the lifeblood of the business, and the ideal candidate will be client focused, and mature enough to work autonomously at times.
This is a full-time role.

Primary duties
- Liaising with other staff, partners, clients, vendors and contractors
- Connecting remotely to customer environments utilising VPN or related remote access technologies (Citrix, Remote Desktop etc)
- Creating and maintaining service tickets and customer data inside Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Troubleshooting AV problems for customers, both remotely and onsite
- Attending customer sites to troubleshoot AV, Video Conferencing, and related IT systems
- Fault finding and maintaining AV systems and equipment and resolving issues remotely or assisting AV engineers or customer staff on site
- Helping manage fault escalations with vendors and/or other internal resources
- Updating firmware on AV/VC equipment
- Completing health-checks on installed AV systems and completing test plans
- Reading technical drawings, particularly as they relate to Audiovisual, video conferencing or telecommunications equipment (Microsoft Visio skills preferred)
- Creating technical documentation
- Managing hardware faults and RMAs
- May at times be required to assist the installation team with deploying AV installations. This would include pre-commissioning, installation works and potentially some basic testing and commissioning activities.
- May at times be required to assist with other general office or warehouse related duties
Skills & experience
- Have valid Australian car license
- Experience in the Audiovisual or IT industry
- Have experience with using a CRM or ticketing system (advantageous)
- Experience with video conferencing technologies considered an advantage
- Good understanding of Information Technology concepts – basic IT networking understanding preferred
- Experience with Unified Communications platforms including MS Teams, Zoom and WebEx
- Prior experience with video conferencing hardware: Poly, Logitech, Cisco, Crestron etc
- Technical knowledge of AV technologies and concepts preferred: Control systems (Creston, Extron), audio (Biamp, QSC), wireless presentation (ClickShare) etc
- Being able to take direction and then work autonomously
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Sound understanding of the Office 365 (SharePoint), MS Office suite
- Experience with physical installation of AV equipment is desirable;
