About the Role

As a Workplace Solution Architect, you’ll serve as the technical expert supporting our sales opportunities in AV, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and Smart Buildings. You’ll design and present integrated solutions, build relationships with key technical stakeholders, and ensure smooth project transition from proposal to delivery. Your role is crucial for “technically closing” deals—translating complex customer requirements into clear, value-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design: Scope and document technical solutions, including products and services, that align with customer needs and maximize value for both the client and Generation-e.
  • Customer Engagement: Apply your industry experience and skills to rapidly build trust with clients, articulate solution proposals, and secure buy-in from decision-makers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Service Delivery, and AV-Engineering to ensure proposed solutions are accurate, profitable, and successful.
  • Governance & Documentation: Maintain thorough records in CRM, produce costings and Scopes of Work (SOW), and follow our Pre-Sales Handbook for pricing and solution approval.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with training, actively share feedback on evolving market demands, and represent Generation-e at community events or speaking engagements.
  • Project & Proposal Management: Adhere to SLAs for quotes, proposals, and pilot engagements. Ensure solutions meet business, technical, and profitability goals.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of integrated AV systems, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and related workplace technologies (e.g., Vergesense, Verkada, Appspace, Cisco Spaces).
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience responding to tenders and quoting AV technology in commercial environments.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM tools and estimating software (D-Tools).
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to present convincingly to customers, manage stakeholder expectations, and document findings.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability: A proven track record in designing solutions and tackling technical challenges in dynamic environments.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in IT/Audio-Visual service delivery, with a record of technical pre-sales success.
  • Education: Degree in IT, Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science (preferred).
  • Certifications: Relevant and current Microsoft certifications; AVIXA CTS.
