NW Group is New Zealand’s leading provider of production and technical event services. As the in-house AV partner at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC), we deliver exceptional technical experiences across conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, and high-profile client events.
We’re looking for a Venue & AV Technician to join our talented on-site team at NZICC — someone who is confident working in a fast-paced environment, passionate about great technical delivery, and keen to be part of a collaborative, high-performing crew.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing, setting up, operating, and packing down a wide range of AV equipment across all NZICC spaces.
- Delivering outstanding technical support in audio, lighting, vision, LED, rigging or general AV.
- Providing exceptional client service while representing NW Group on the NZICC floor.
- Conducting and supporting on-site Health & Safety inductions (Toolbox Talks) and ensuring compliance for casual staff, contractors, and visiting production teams.
- Supervising and guiding casual technicians and contractors when required.
- Maintaining equipment standards and assisting with warehouse prep when needed.
- Troubleshooting on the fly and ensuring events run smoothly from start to finish.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in live events, AV, technical production, theatre, or similar.
- Solid working knowledge of at least one AV discipline (audio, lighting, vision, or general AV).
- Calm, organised, and solutions-focused under pressure.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours as events require.
- A team player who’s proactive, reliable, and takes pride in their work.
- A commitment to safe working practices.
