A retractable control panel and what could be the world’s easiest room scheduling panel lead a raft of new releases from AMX at InfoComm.

The new AMX 10-inch Modero X Series G5 Retractable offers a precision-glide motorised mount that raises and retracts with the touch of a button and is easily activated via NetLinx control, triggered directly, through macros or via room occupancy. The hideaway design saves space and remain flush with the table when closed.

Designed specifically for dedicated room control, the Modero X Series G5 panels feature fast and smooth animations and transitions along with a quad-core processor, a panoramic capacitive multi-touch screen, NFC technology and camera, mic and Bluetooth connectivity. A built-in web browser and document viewers are included as standard, and a choice of mounting options are available.

AMX RoomBook, also previewed at the show, is an intuitive dedicated room scheduling device with support for the most popular scheduling software platforms and a panel-based configuration wizard to get users rooms online and scheduling in minutes. The bright, bold user interface is designed to make scheduling simple and straightforward – with the background colour and LED side lights alternating between green and red depending on room availability, users can see the status of a room by just glancing down a hallway.

The touch panels include a bright, full colour high resolution display, wide screen viewing angle, low profile design and a choice of 10in and 7in versions. They can be mounted to any smooth surface including glass or stone, and set up is as simple as plugging in an Ethernet cable, and selecting a scheduling platform including Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Google Calendar and IBM/Lotus Notes.

AMX has also announced a partnership deal with Microsoft to integrate the Surface Hub collaboration system with its meeting room control ecosystem. The company says its product solutions will leverage Surface Hub’s ability to consume high quality digital content, while integrating seamlessly with AMX’s automation systems. Other notable releases include a major update to HydraPort with the integration of an ultra-slim Modero S series touch panel, a significant security upgrade to the NX platform, and enhancements to the Enzo platform with the addition of a new Moderator Mode with Quad View.
