Cleerline Goes to Extremes

The Cleerline Technology Group has introduced the SSF-2x8POE-RUGGED, a 2×8 switch that has been engineered for extreme environments. This versatile switch includes two SFP Gigabit ports with eight ports of Gigabit Ethernet and can deliver eight ports of PoE+ (30W per port). “This rugged 2×8 switch from Cleerline enables security A/V integrators to offer clients all the benefits of a fibre infrastructure plus PoE Ethernet connectivity that features critical surge protection for use in extreme environments,” explained Rick Sant, Managing Partner at Cleerline Technology Group. “This switch is part of Cleerline’s expanding lineup of fibre products, enabling installers to deliver nearly limitless scalability and unmatched reliability for every project.”

Technically Speaking

Cleerline’s SSF-2x8POE-RUGGED 2×8 PoE switch is an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-TX to 2 port 1000Base-X non-managed Industrial Ethernet PoE+ PSE Switch. Offering PoE+ (30W per port), this switch is a strong solution for extreme environments. The unit’s case is rated for use in temperatures from -40 to +75°C/-40°F to 167°F. Additionally, the rugged metal housing’s IP40 rating allows the switch to operate in mechanical and electrical extremes. This switch has 6kV surge protection per port and is compliant with IEC and EN standards for industrial grade equipment.
