Crestron has been selected by the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) as its official enterprise technology partner for the next two years. The new partnership with ARU will extend to any new facility-focused project by ARU and the Wallabies, where creating areas for collaboration and communication is central to the initiative.

Representing the first project to mark the long-term partnership, Crestron will be heavily involved in the development of ARU’s new state-of-the-art headquarters in Moore Park, Sydney. Dubbed the Australian Rugby Development Centre, the leading facility will act as a national headquarters as well as a training base for the Qantas Wallabies, Buildcorp Wallaroos, Qantas Australian Men’s and Women’s Sevens and junior representative teams. The site is set to bring all of the national teams and the game’s administration together for the first time.

Crestron’s involvement in the Australian Rugby Development Centre will include audio, digital media, unified communications, wireless presentations and intelligent meeting room solutions. These solutions will ensure that the Australian Rugby Union get the most out of their new state of the art facility.

Kevin Stafford, Head of Technology, Australian Rugby Union, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Crestron who are global leaders in creating state-of-the-art workplace collaboration environments. We are confident they will take the technology in our current and upcoming projects to a whole new level. With the support of Crestron, our new Australian Rugby Development Centre is set to greatly enhance the sustainability and success of Australian Rugby. It provides a new home for Australian Rugby in a terrific sporting precinct.”

Stuart Craig, Chief Executive Officer, Crestron, Asia Pacific, said: “Our partnership with the Australian Rugby Union is an outstanding milestone for the Crestron Asia Pacific team. We are proud to be selected for the long-term partnership following a competitive tender, and are very much looking forward to kicking goals on the projects that lie ahead. The Australian Rugby Development Centre is set to be a truly incredible facility, and we will be working to ensure the state-of-the-art property is matched with best-of-breed, seamless and easy-to-use technology throughout.”

The five-and-a-half storey Australian Rugby Development Centre is forecast for completion by the end of 2017.
