Exterity has announced that it will launch the latest version of its AvediaServer at CCW 2015 (Javits Convention Centre, New York, November 11 – 12, 2015). The major new features in AvediaServer 7.3 include, managed 7 day catch-up TV and enhanced support for Smart TVs and Android devices.

“CCW sees us provide important additional features to AvediaServer, such as managed support for 7 day catch-up TV and support for a range of Smart TVs,” said Colin Farquhar, CEO at Exterity. “Another key addition to the AvediaServer is support for Android devices, which, in addition to our current Apple support, dovetails with our ‘Beyond The LAN’ functionality. This enables Exterity IPTV solutions to support the distribution of content to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, which is increasingly important for our customers, whichever sector they operate in.”

The Exterity AvediaServer is the central hub for managing an IP video system. It provides the ability to monitor and control all Exterity devices from one place, ensuring that TV and video content is successfully distributed to the right audience, the way the want it. This is achieved via recording live TV for later playback, as well as providing Video on Demand. AvediaServer can also import assets such as training videos and movies, which can be distributed as Video on Demand or as play channels. Features of AvediaServer include: centralised control of the complete end-to-end Exterity system, management of seven day catch-up TV, monitoring of channels, content back-up, industry leading security and a customisable interface through Exterity Artio middleware.

“In addition to the new version of AvediaServer launched at CCW, visitors to the Exterity booth will also be able to see demonstrations of the full ‘Beyond the LAN’ product range as well as Exterity’s latest broadcast-focused IP-to-SDI AvediaStream Receiver r9350.”
