By

2 November 2018

The Invictus Games Sydney 2018 concluded on October 27th. The Duke of Sussex & Founder of the Games, Prince Harry, praised the Games as being “truly magnificent”.

More than 500 veterans from a record 18 participating allied nations and their families came together in a spectacular closing ceremony at Qudos Bank Arena for medals presentation, celebration of mateship, and the Invictus spirit.

Sydney’s The P.A. People supplied comms systems for nine different venues for the Invictus Games including cycling, sailing, archery and several other disciplines. Venues include Sydney Harbour off the point at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, Royal Botanic Gardens precinct, and various venues at Olympic Park; NSW Tennis Centre, Genea Netball Centre, Quay Centre, Athletics and Aquatic Centres.

Comms systems included UHF Duplex Repeaters, Motorola UHF radios, Clear-Com matrix frame interfacing between radio systems and cabled communications, desktop and belt pack personal communications options for the Sports Presentation teams working each venue.

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry, in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in sports including swimming, sailing, archery, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing (among others).
