PRO UHD SCREEN FOR THE HOME

By

14 April 2015

The new Spectrum AcousticPro UHD is a motorised moiré -free, acoustically transparent projection screen from Elite Screens for both commercial and domestic use. The fine woven acoustically transparent material is designed to be placed in front of speakers allowing sound to pass through the material with minimal attenuation while maintaining exceptional picture quality with 1080P or 4K resolution projectors.

“Entry level home theatre products are becoming more sophisticated because they must,” says Elite Screens marketing manager Dave Rodgers. “So many low-cost projectors are giving a tremendous amount of value as opposed to their low cost so why should a screen be different?”

The AcousticPro UHD material is flame-retardant with a fine 1.0 gain porous weave. Its 0.32mm perforations are virtually imperceptible, and allow sound from in-wall speakers behind it to pass through the material with only a 2.36dB average insertion loss, and without creating visual artifacts such as the moiré.

The screen drops and rises with the aid of a silent, power-saving synchronous motor, and the system comes assembled in an enameled metal casing. Standard control accessories include an infrared receiver with remote, and a detachable three-way wall switch. It also has a 5-12V trigger that can coordinate the screen’s drop and rise with the projector’s power cycle. Optional features include wireless RF 12V trigger, and a ceiling trim kit for recessed ceiling installations.

The Spectrum AcousticPro UHD Projection Screen is available now in sizes from 100- and 125-inches in a 16:9 HDTV format, and is priced from US $624.
