Hard Fizz HQ is the home of Hard Fizz – a purveyor of hard seltzer out of Burleigh Heads. The brand is effervescent — bright, primary, uncomplicated and fun – as is the taproom fitout. It’s all effortlessly on-brand.

“Having a taproom was always part of the plan,” according to Hard Fizz Content and Social Guru, Jack Clemens. “It’s a bricks ’n’ mortar embodiment of Hard Fizz. We’re strong on functions and promote a good-time party atmosphere.”

Live music and DJs play a key role. Jack Clemens taps into a lively local musician scene to source his talent.

The space maxes out at around 150 people and although not a nightclub, needed an audio solution that would offer enough guts to get punters moving on a Friday or Saturday night but also offer a pleasing and balanced coverage for background music at other times.

“Our original sound system wasn’t workable. It wasn’t controlled enough and the music became noisy very easily – it was uncomfortable… the sub was turned off most of the time to help clean up the sound but it simply wasn’t the right system for the space.”

After various enquiries, Hard Fizz HQ got the audio help it needed and a new JBL Eon-based system has transformed the space. The system comprises 2 x EON712 mid/high boxes combined with an EON718S subwoofer. Two additional EON710 boxes provide DJ foldback.

The rig isn’t monstrous nor will it win any egotistical ‘my PA is bigger than yours’ competitions but is proving to be the right system for Hard Fizz HQ.

“The results are like night and day – the JBL EON system is working for us so much better. The iPad JBL Pro Connect app is easy to use and gives us the control we need.”
