Novatech Creative Event Technology is proud to announce its new partnership with the Darwin Entertainment Centre. As part of the on-going agreement, Novatech will provide a world-class PA system and lighting rig to be kept in-house for the use of all venue hirers. With audio products from L-Acoustics, Avid and Yamaha, and lighting from High End Systems, Martin and GLP, touring artists and major events that may previously have not come to The Top End due to lack of suitable equipment will find all their technical needs met in a venue that can comfortably accommodate their productions.

The arrangement is similar to Novatech’s partnership with other venues, including Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre, whose technical specifications’ have been closely matched with the Darwin Entertainment Centre’s new systems. “We’ve been servicing the Darwin events industry for 10 years, with our involvement growing substantially over the last five years,” explained James Sacca, Production Manager at Novatech. “The Darwin Entertainment Centre was looking to increase its portfolio and attract bigger acts. The Darwin event market is underserviced, which is why some events find it hard to tour there. What we’ve provided for them is world class product and service.”

“We welcome having a relationship with a company that has state-of-the-art equipment,” said Alan James, General Manager of the Darwin Entertainment Centre. “We’re confident this will provide our clients and patrons with a quality outcome. Having the equipment national and international artists expect in-house makes the centre more attractive to producers. As a result, we’ll start getting a lot more artists that otherwise wouldn’t be coming to The Northern Territory, and that’s great for our patrons and everybody involved. It’s a win-win for all parties.”

The new Darwin Entertainment Centre PA system will consists of an L-Acoustics KARA line array, augmented by L-Acoustics SB18 subwoofers. In-fill is handled by distributed L-Acoustics 8XT’s. Stage sound will be covered by L-Acoustics 115XT HiQ monitors wedges. Mixing duties will be carried out with an industry standard combination of an AVID SC48 at Front Of House and a Yamaha M7CL-48 on monitors. In addition to a standard kit of microphones, stands and power distribution, customers will also be able to take up optional wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, drum fills and side fills.

The new lighting rig will augment the Centre’s existing analogue fixtures with Martin MAC 700 Profiles, GLP Impression’s, two-way blinders and a hazebase hazer. A High End Systems RoadHog Full Boar with an additional wing will run control over new power and data infrastructure also provided by Novatech.
