Beijing Film Academy (BFA) is the only film school in China and the largest in Asia with 263 faculty members and over 2000 students. BFA has built its reputation on providing the very latest facilities, equipment, and technology to ensure students gain the education and expertise required to succeed in the industry.

BFA now offers multiple high-definition audio/video classroom equipped with Crestron DigitalMedia Presentation Systems, providing a complete presentation control and signal routing solution. DigitalMedia delivers an integrated control system, multimedia matrix switcher, mic mixer, audio DSP, and an amplifier — all from a single 3U rack mount. With no need for separate components, Crestron helps the academy easily make the most of their limited classroom space.

Built-in HDBaseT connectivity affords a streamlined wiring solution for interfacing with remote AV source, computers, and display devices. There are none of the problems associated with traditional signal transmission over long wire runs, such as dropped frames, high latency, low contrast and poor colour reproduction. Instead, DigitalMedia maintains HD signal transmission to every display device. Each classroom includes built-in mixing and processing for four microphones with each mic input providing 60dB of gain adjustment, switchable 48V phantom power, full-adjustable gating, compression, delay, and four-band semi-parametric EQ.

Every classroom features a Crestron 10” touch screen which gives professors one-touch control of all the technology in each space, including podium computers, projectors, screens, audio, video, lighting, microphones and other teaching equipment. Virtually no training is required to start a presentation. Each touch screen GUI is customised with the BFA badge and motto.

BFA is thrilled with the Crestron DigitalMedia solution. “Crestron makes life much easier for BFA professors. It provides a cost-effective, easy-to-use way to engage students using the highest quality audio and video,” said Shang Sheng-jun, Project Manager of Noto Technology Co. Ltd., the Beijing-based system integrator.
