About the role
Step into a dynamic leadership role with a renowned and respected organization, working on a high-profile new project at the iconic New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) in Auckland’s vibrant CBD. As the Technical Director, you will be a key strategic partner, directly liaising with the client and representing the company on-site to ensure seamless event delivery.
Following the sales team’s successful handover, you will take the reins, driving the technical execution from concept to completion. From planning and technical design to on-site operations, you will turn vision into reality, ensuring every detail is meticulously executed.

About you
If you’re an experienced, hands-on, and proactive person who thrives on driving high end projects to completion, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Working closely with a variety of stakeholders and internal teams, you’ll bring your enthusiasm, energy, and overall technical ability to ensure smooth operations and exceptional outcomes.
We’re looking for a technical specialist with a solid technical background, and hands-on experience managing and delivering multiple conferences and large-scale events. Experience with rigging and rigging best practices would be an added bonus. Your ability to stay upbeat and ensure the seamless execution of every detail will be key to your success in this role.
- Proven experience running high end, large scale projects. This is a hands on role, so you’re experience as a senior technician is crucial to this role.
- Ability to Build Strong Relationships with Stakeholders and Clients
- A proactive, hands on individual who enjoys seeing processes through to completion and outcome
- Experience using software such as Vectorworks or other CAD programs
