CRESTRON COMMITS TO ANZ

Crestron Electronics has announced it will have a direct presence in Australia and New Zealand from 1 July 2015, opening new offices in the region to handle all sales, marketing, training and support programmes.
The only exception will be the Crestron Pyng range of home automation solutions, which will continue to be distributed exclusively by Hills according to CEO Asia Pacific, Stuart Craig.
Crestron ANZ will set up its ANZ headquarters in Sydney, with additional offices in other capital cities in Australia and New Zealand, Craig told AV Asia Pacific.
The decision is consistent with Crestron’s global strategy to have full ownership of all regional distribution outlets. This business model has been fully rolled out across Europe and is now coming into effect in the Asia Pacific region.
“All of our customers in ANZ can look forward to even further engagement and enhanced services,” Craig said. “We believe the Crestron platform is second to none in terms of capability and functionality across corporate, education, hospitality and healthcare markets to name but a few and this direct presence will help us support all our customers with the partnership they need to grow their business well into the future.”
Crestron will release more details closer to the changeover, “but until then it is business as usual through our distributor partnership with Hills,” he said.
A statement released by Hills said the company looks forward to maintaining a strong working relationship with Crestron and that “there will be an orderly transition and customer service and sales support will continue as per usual process”.
“The Hills team has been acknowledged as having done an excellent job selling Crestron products in the Australia and NZ market,” the statement said. “In FY14 Crestron Australia & New Zealand received an award for the fastest growing global region. With the success of the Hills relationship, Crestron has been able to grow its sales and gain a leading position in the Australia and NZ market, which positioned Crestron well to align our region with other markets globally.”
