Axis Communications has celebrated the opening of its newest Axis Experience Center (AEC) in Ryde, Sydney, the second of its kind in Australia, adding to its global network of innovation hubs located in cities such as Singapore, New York, London, and Santiago. Located in Macquarie Park, one of New South Wales’ leading technology precincts, the Sydney AEC is designed to inspire and support customers, technology partners, and industry leaders through a hands-on, immersive environment. The centre offers visitors the opportunity to experience how Axis’ latest technologies are applied to solve real-world challenges across a wide range of industries.

“We are proud to open our Sydney Axis Experience Centre today and bring this world-class innovation space to one of Australia’s fastest growing technology hubs,” says Wai King Wong, Regional Director, Oceania, Axis Communications. “This centre reflects our ongoing investment in the region and our belief that innovation thrives when people come together to collaborate, test ideas, and explore what’s possible.”

Key technologies on display include:

  • AI-powered video analytics for people flow, object detection, hard hat compliance, and tailgating alerts
  • Hybrid cloud and edge solutions supporting scalable, secure system architectures
  • Radar and thermal imaging for advanced perimeter protection
  • Environmental sensors, such as air quality monitoring, enabling smart cities
  • Audio management platforms for public address, background music, and critical incident response
  • High-performance imaging comparisons, demonstrating capabilities across varying light levels and resolutions

The opening ceremony included a formal ribbon cutting led by Axis Communications, Swedish Deputy Ambassador Nils Hedberg Grimlund, and Ryde Mayor Trenton Browne, highlighting the importance of collaboration between business, government, and the technology sector in driving Australia’s innovation economy forward.

“This is not just a showcase of what Axis can do. It’s a place where we invite our customers and partners to innovate with us,” adds Wong. “We’re here to support local organisations with the tools, knowledge, and technologies they need to build smarter operations and stronger communities.”

By offering a dedicated space for knowledge-sharing, co-development, and hands-on training, the Sydney AEC will play a vital role in helping organisations across sectors such as transportation, government, retail, healthcare, and education, better understand and apply emerging technologies to meet their evolving needs.
