Catholic church seeks new AV system; Legrand caters for new projection, Vaddio video production system and live-streaming facilities
Pax Christi Catholic Community Church, located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota has a large sanctuary with seating to accommodate 1,500 worshippers. The church’s older system was no longer serving the congregation appropriately for their needs. “Our old system was outdated. The screens were dark, the projectors were not sufficient, and it was hard to see what was going on at the alter when you were in some of the corners of the building,” said Ken Reineccius, Director of Operations at Pax Christi. “When COVID came into play, it became even more important because now we needed the livestreaming capabilities.”
The Pax Christi team reached out to local AV Consultant and Integration firm, Tierney, for a complete system overhaul. By installing Legrand | AV products from Chief, Vaddio, Da-Lite, Luxul, Middle Atlantic, and C2G, Tierney delivered a professional system volunteers can run that not only provides a great in-sanctuary experience but has expanded their global outreach through livestreaming. Tierney recommend high-definition Epson projectors, but also knew the importance of a quality screen surface. They chose two Da-Lite Cinema Contour screens. The congregation needed a video production system that was easy to operate and could facilitate streaming, graphics, and multiple cameras. They selected Vaddio’s AV Bridge MatrixMIX along with three RoboSHOT PTZ cameras, and a touchscreen multiviewer. Ceiling and wall mounting solutions for screens and projectors were provided by Chief. C2G supplied High-Speed HDMI Cables with Ethernet to connect production equipment and projectors. Middle Atlantic rack and rack accessories housed the AV equipment including a Luxul network switch for power and network connectivity.
