Australia tries Blue Jeans on for size

Blue Jeans Network, a major player in interoperable video collaboration with nearly nearly 30 per cent of the global video conferencing services market,  has launched in Australia.

Blue Jeans boosts collaboration and productivity for businesses with a scalable, easy-to-use service for face-to-face meetings and rich content sharing across a wide range of conference rooms, desktops and mobile devices.

The company has plans for a Sydney based Point of Presence (POP), targeted for early 2014, or sooner. Blue Jeans Network is also building a local team and HQ, with Country manager, Tom Longhurst, already appointed.
The Blue Jeans service is experiencing record growth across all facets of its business, including customers, users, usage, bookings and revenues, largely at the expense of legacy hardware based solutions from industry incumbents such as Cisco and Polycom. Blue Jeans Network has achieved this growth across the US, UK, Canada, Germany and India, and is now looking to emulate this success in the local market.  Australia is currently the sixth largest market for Blue Jeans Network, with over one million call minutes already consumed, by 60,000 participants from 169 companies.
