PCEC TECHNICAL DIRECTOR APPOINTED
AVPartners has appointed Ben Hamblin as technical director at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC), following its reappointment as the venue’s in-house AV partner.
A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Music Technology, Hamblin joined AVPartners in 2011 as project manager at PCEC. He has worked on some of Perth’s largest events including the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, Perth Telethon, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games functions, St John Ambulance National Conference and several Perth Wildcats MVP Balls.
“He has gained a formidable reputation at PCEC with many return clients specifically asking for Ben to work on their events,” says AVPartners’ Ryan Taylor.
“I love the excitement that comes with the events industry and working at PCEC every day brings something new,” adds Hamblin. “I’m thrilled to move into the role of technical director and continue to deliver amazing, first class events.”
AVPartners extended its five-year relationship with PCEC in July, and also won the rigging contract for the centre’s exhibition pavilions.
