AVT REVEALS LOCALLY CREATED INNOVATION AT AETM CONFERENCE

By

24 November 2017

avt is announcing the release of its first ever OEM products specifically for the higher education sector at the 2017 AETM Conference being held at the University of the Sunshine Coast this week. Supporting the creation of exciting new products avt collaborated with two industry leading universities in the design and development.

Mezzo by avt is a middleware product integrating Scientia’s Syllabus Plus time-table and scheduling software directly with lecture theatre or classroom scheduling panels. This means universities will for the first time be able to display their Syllabus Plus timetable directly on roompanels outside of teaching spaces. What’s more, the booking panels can now be used to encourage ad-hoc collaboration, by enabling students to book unused spaces in real time directly from the scheduling panels whilst providing an override capability from the timetabling system.

Developed in conjunction with the University of Adelaide, Mezzo for Syllabus Plus improves efficiency through removing the requirement for manual signage outside teaching spaces and retains timetabling data integrity through its unidirectional synchronisation of data.  Mezzo for Syllabus Plus is the first in a range of Mezzo middleware products under development by avt for education, government and corporate applications.

COWS by avt is a family of flexible mobile technology solutions.  The first release leverages the AMX Acendo Unified Communications range to provide the latest in collaboration technology where and when it is required, transforming any available campus space into teaching, meeting and learning spaces.

Developed in conjunction with QUT, the avt COWS family fosters communication, engagement, sharing inactive learning and student collaboration applications.

avt has acted as a trusted technology advisor to the university sector for over 30 years and leads the industry in providing audio visual operational and innovation strategy guidance to ensure university environments are future proofed.

The development of Mezzo and COWS by avt is an example of avt working closely with its university partners  to create solutions to challenges that have arisen with the changing ways of learning. The avt team looks forward to forming further strategic partnerships to fulfil its ongoing mission to provide authentically valuable and intrinsic solutions for customer applications.
