HILLS TAKES AIM AT MILESTONE

Hills Limited (ASX: HIL) advises that it has today filed court documents seeking orders to set aside a statutory demand filed by Milestone Systems, dismiss a wind-up application and for Milestone to pay all costs.

Hills disputes that the service of a statutory demand was properly effected and contends that the proceeding is an abuse of process by Milestone.

David Lenz, CEO of Hills, said the dispute with Milestone – for only $56,000 – had been going on for some time, with the heart of the dispute being the integrity of the former Milestone partner program.

Mr Lenz said Hills had continued to see strong growth from its exclusive distribution arrangement with Genetec and that the exit from Milestone at the end of 2016 had seen this growth accelerate.

“We had hoped that there would be no need to provide comment on this matter given the quantum of the dispute,” he said.

“However, disturbingly, a number of speciality media outlets sought to sensationalise the matter in a one-sided fashion when Hills had clearly indicated it considered the matter to be minor and without merit.”
