iMAGsystems BRINGS PERFECT STORM TO INFOCOMM 2018

iMAGsystems will be out in force at InfoComm 2018 debuting a highly-compressed H.264 video-over-IP streaming solution called Rain. Having offered uncompressed 10G SDVoE and compressed 1G JPEG2000 solutions in its Lightning and Thunder products respectively, the aptly-named Rain follows the naming convention of fast to slow streaming solutions, given the extended latency attribute of H.264. The low bandwidth overhead of Rain makes it ideal for enterprise rollouts within education institutions and other AV-over-IP applications where network bandwidth is premium. Additionally, the video streams from Rain encoders can be fully decoded by software players like VLC.

A welcome addition to the Thunder JPEG2000 family is a two-gang PoE wall plate version of the Thunder encoder. The wall plate form factor of the Thunder encoder greatly benefits hospitality and corporate venues where rack space is limited and flexibility in connection is crucial. PoE support means installers need only run a single network cable to the Thunder wall plate.

iMAGsystems’ Lightning Director SDVoE software has received an extensive upgrade and will launch at the show with a customisable GUI control interface. Based on cues from presets, the new feature allows GUI creation for myriad touch control surfaces. Graphical elements like pages, backgrounds and buttons are easily created and recalled by a unique QR coding system. Applications where high resolution video transport needs to be married with simplified control are now met with Lightning.

To complement the family of iMAGsystems codec streaming solutions, a wireless presentation switcher named Air has been added. Air achieves wireless video transmission using native AirPlay and Miracast technologies without the use of downloadable apps. In addition, Air provides connectivity for local HDMI and VGA sources and provides IP to RS232 control of an attached display device. Meeting rooms and training spaces are a perfect match for Air as it provides users with multiple methods to display content while automating display control.

“We are excited to present our new technologies at InfoComm 2018,” says Gerry Raffaut, CEO of iMAGsystems. “Our new Rain product signifies our efforts to broaden iMAGsystems’ video-over-IP offerings to suit a wider range of applications. I am excited to see how this product benefits our customers, especially in the education, hospitality and corporate markets.”
