NEW PRODUCTS FROM ATLONA AT ISE

Atlona, a Panduit company will head to the ISE 2019 exhibition with a host of new releases, including three new modules for their OMEGA Series of switching, extension, and video processing solutions and a small-format 1×2 HDMI to HDBaseT distribution amplifier. It also announces a partnership with Josh.ai for voice-controlled distribution AV, new OmniStream firmware along with added Dolby Vision support at 60 fps, Velocity 1.5 with custom GUI support and its acquistion by Panduit.

OMEGA products debuting at ISE 2019 include:

• The AT-OME-EX-KIT is a versatile 4K/UHD HDBaseT extender designed for small meeting room applications, transporting HDMI video and audio, control, Ethernet and USB signals over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). Integrating seamlessly with PCs, cameras, speakerphones, and microphones, the OME-EX-KIT addresses the challenge of connecting between USB devices at remote locations.
• The AT-OME-SR21 is an HDBaseT receiver and 4K/UHD scaler with an additional local HDMI input. The OME-SR21 receives 4K/UHD, 4:2:0 video at 60 Hz alongside embedded audio and control signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over category cable. The unit can also receive USB data over HDBaseT from compatible transmitters and features a built-in USB 2.0 hub, forming an ideal USB integration solution for peripherals such as cameras, soundbars and touch displays.
• The AT-OME-ST31A is a 3×1, 4K/UHD switcher and HDBaseT transmitter that features two HDMI inputs alongside a USB-C AV input that provides adapter-free interfacing with the latest generation of laptops and mobile devices. Mirrored 18 Gbps HDMI and 10 Gbps HDBaseT outputs provide flexible options for AV systems designs.  

The new models join previously-announced OMEGA solutions including the AT-OME-SW32 3×2 matrix switcher, AT-OME-TX21-WP-E two-input EU/UK wallplate switcher, and the AT-OME-ST31 3×1 switcher and HDBaseT transmitter. The latter offers similar capabilities to the OME-ST31A, but features audio embedding instead of de-embedding. 

Also announced is the UHD-CAT-2, which features one HDMI input, one HDMI pass-through output, and two HDBaseT outputs for distributing 1080p content up to 230 feet (70 meters) or 4K/UHD material up to 130 feet (40m) over category cable. Each HDBaseT output delivers video, audio, remote PoE receiver power, and control signals – including RS-232 and IR, plus CEC for automatic display control – over a single cable, simplifying installation while minimizing cable runs between AV sources, control systems and displays. The new distribution amplifier supports 4K/UHD video at 60 Hz with 4:2:0 chroma sampling and is HDCP 2.2 compliant, enabling reliable distribution of copy-protected content. 

Partnership with Josh.ai
Atlona also reports it is ‘extending the reach of its whole-home AV systems into the residential and light commercial markets’ through a new partnership with Josh.ai. The complete solution integrates Josh voice control platforms with Atlona HDR-H2H and PRO3 Series HDMI-to-HDBaseT matrix switchers. The simple configuration-based setup processes allow installers to offer intelligent, high-quality distributed AV for connected homes and small businesses.

OmniStream now with Dolby Vision
Updating its OmniStream platform, Atlona is now offering a downloadable lisence to enable Dolby Vision-enhanced video at 60 Hz with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling and 12-bit color resolution to be distributed over existing OmniStream AV over IP systems. It is also releasing OmniStream 1.2.2 firmware, of which’s major upgrades includes seamless high-speed switching (under 10 ms) between AV and new daisy-chaining capabilites for OmniStream’s existing encoding grouping funcionality.

Velocity 1.5 Update
Atlona also unveils a significant new software upgrade for the company’s Velocity IP-based AV control and management platform. Taking Velocity’s mantra of “Simplified AV Control” forward, version 1.5 enables integrators to create fully-customized graphical user interfaces while adding new flexibility to video wall operation for end users.

Acquisition by Panduit
Atlona also announces their recent acquisition by Panduit Corp., which president and CEO Dennis Renuad reports “[will] complement Panduit’s extensive physical infrastructure portfolio, allowing us to offer customers a quality end-to-end solution as they move to increasingly complex network infrastructure systems.”
