AV Senior Service Technician

Our client is a progressive thinking organisation and one of the most respected, world market leaders due to their professionalism and drive in the market place. They have an opening for an AV Senior Service Technician to perform Service of installed AV equipment and systems at clients premises. You will be conducting preventative maintenance inspections and service call outs. This position reports to the Head of Project and Operations Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

Service:

  • Providing onsite service maintenance and fault finding.
  • Keep track of service call required and assign time to attend.
  • Contact client to organise callouts.
  • Keep records of all service and maintenance carried out.
  • Sent reports to clients.
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for training the clients team.
  • Be prepared to attend service callouts as needed.
  • Keep track of service calls required and assign time to attend.

  • Conduct preventative service inspections as needed.
  • Track maintenance contacts and perform agreed work in a timely manner.

Installation and Testing:

  • Install AV systems in line with company standards.
  • Stage test systems when required.
  • Assist with rack building if required.

Contracts and Documentation:

  • File all reports, including room layouts / serial numbers, on server.
  • Keep up to date with paperwork.
  • Help sales department with quotes for service / maintenance contracts.

Systems Development:

  • Comply with all internal procedures as documented in the IMS.
  • Improve systems by suggesting updates to documents.
  • Participate as required in quality audits and/or meetings.
  • Enter any service reports when working alone.

Training:

  • Participate in any training as required.
  • Ensure that all training / inductions completed are reported back to Manager / Systems Coordinator.

What you’ll need:

  • 3 years experience in Supervising AV.
  • 1-2 years AV service experience.
  • Some small electronics experience.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge with AV equipment systems including video conferencing and control systems.
  • Exposed in fault-finding, AV schematics and digital sound processors.
  • Trade qualification in electronics, communications or audio visual or demonstrated industry equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail with your ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Able to problem solve problems related to small to large complex AV systems.
  • Able to terminate AV connections.
  • Computing skills.
  • Driver’s License.
