What part will you play?

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and delivering multiple commercial audio-visual projects from start to finish. This candidate will be able to create a plan of action which will consider a fixed timeline and evaluate risks. This individual should also have experience managing people and be an effective communicator.

The Senior Project Manager will have sound experience in financial cost control, commercial management and knowledge in delivering AV solutions to a services and construction market.

This role is a critical leadership role, providing key fundamentals and supporting outcomes to our clients, partners and the overall project management team.

Your AV skills would allow you to oversee installations of complex control, audio and video installations and ensuring that projects are completed on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate AV design liaising with engineering to ensure the timely production of shop drawings.
  • Monitoring the procurement of equipment to ensure orders are placed and deliveries occur to ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Monitoring the day-to-day activities performed by the site supervisor on site. i.e., ordering of materials, liaising with the builders’ foreman and other tradesmen.
  • Ensuring sufficient and updated documentation is available to all project staff at all times.
  • Checking quality of the work performed on site and ensuring Diversified standard work practices are maintained.
  • Oversee safety practices, compliance and injury management for the project and project staff
  • Coordination of the manufacture of custom items such as wall plates or joiner.
  • Ensuring sufficient resources are arranged for installation, commissioning, and programming of the project for a timely completion.
  • Perform an Account Management role in certain circumstances, particularly on large complex projects.
  • Assist with the formulation of Project Department processes and procedures.
  • Forecasting of projects staff labour allocations.
  • Assist the General Manager in maintaining the labour force, including hiring new staff (subject to HR approval) and all other HR activities for the projects team.
  • Oversee and assist other project managers on their projects if required.
  • Oversee and monitor the progress of projects, including supervising technical staff, monitoring quality and speed of work ensuring punctuality and presentation as a company representative.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in AV/Construction/ICT or similar industry
  • A sound understanding of audio-visual systems and other related construction service disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management on high profile, complex, large & small-scale projects.
  • Proven skills in managing a small team to deliver project outcomes.
  • A sound understanding of contracts and contract administration processes.
  • Demonstrated skills in Master planning and Design Management
  • Strong capacity to foster and develop relationships with key stakeholders at senior levels across all sectors of government and industry.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and ideally Project
  • A hands-on approach with practical and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task in an energetic environment
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
