AV Customer Services Technician — UTS

The UTS Audio Visual Services Department is recruiting customer orientated and client facing AVS Customer Services Technicians to coordinate, support and demonstrate the presentation of technologies for UTS teaching and learning activities, university corporate events, video conferencing, seminars and meetings. 

There are two vacancies on the team:

  • x1 full time, continuing contract
  • x1 full time, fixed term contract for 12 months

Working as part of a team, you will coordinate the provision of timely and responsive AV services to enable the effective delivery of classes to students. You will provide support for virtual meeting technologies, and also be responsible for the provision of maintenance (preventative and repairs) for installed and portable AV equipment used in university activities.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

HEW 4:

Contributes to quality teaching and learning by providing responsive, timely and effective AV/IT services that satisfy the presentation requirements of clients in a rapidly changing environment.
Contributes to a client centred service by liaising with clients, providing advice and solutions to client problems and accurately processing client bookings. 

HEW 5:

Contributes to quality teaching and learning by providing a timely, responsive, flexible and effective delivery of appropriate AV/IT services that satisfy the presentation requirements of clients in a rapidly changing environment.

HEW 6:

Applies specialist knowledge and demonstrates a high level of initiative and independence when problem solving or communicating with clients  

With examples, please outline in a separate document how you meet the following four (4) key selection criteria points below:

  • Demonstrated in depth knowledge of audio-visual and computer equipment including setup, operation, problem solving and routine maintenance
  • Demonstrated skills in effective organisation and time management, including the ability to prioritise and achieve &on time& completion of tasks
  • Demonstrated effective communication and customer skills
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict

Remuneration/Salary

Base Salary Range: $69,224 – $94,504 (HEW 4-6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
