We have a pivotal leadership opportunity to join Samsung Australia to manage the fastest growing product lines as the Head of Product within our Display & Brand Memory (DBM) team. The DBM team are charged with a diverse IT portfolio, fulfilled through the B2B and B2C market places. In this role, you will be responsible for the local operation and P&L of our sub-categories, which include, Computer Monitors (LCD), Large Format Displays (LFD), Hotel TVs, LED Displays and Memory.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to manage the cadence of our business operation including our financial and product forecast as well as our category business plans. You will be part of the leadership group for the DBM team which includes the Head of Marketing and the Heads of Sales, so an ability to collaborate and contribute to the running and direction of the broader business is crucial.
To be successful in this role, you should have strong financial acumen, a creative mind to help shape our go-to-market and an ability to lead an energetic team.
Role And Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Support each product manager (PM) to localise the product roadmap and initiatives from HQ to create compelling market stories for our products which the sales and marketing teams can use in market. Ensuring that these messages are clearly understood internally and externally is critical.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics and drivers through detailed analysis of market share data, sell through information and customer feedback. Partnering closely with the Business Analyst, you will provide insights and create tactics to continue to grow Samsung share.
- Support each PM to run their weekly Supply Chain Management (SCM) meetings, ensuring we correctly managing the product flow into the Australian market. This requires the Head of Product to contribute to healthy debate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure our consensus plans deliver our market and strategic product objectives.
- Maintain a vision of future market coverage. Ensuring we have a healthy pipeline and good market coverage in B2B, and monitoring share and coverage of B2C to maintain a healthy business.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Leading an energetic team which are at different stages of their careers. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate an ability to bring the team together and evolve a creative and supportive environment.
- Create weekly report for the Senior Management team with market updates, activity overview and the status of marketing activities.
- Communicate closely with HQ Global Business Managers to ensure effective HQ support and align objectives and business targets
Skills And Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant Product/Category Management experience, ideally, from a B2B environment
- Open to Senior Product Managers looking for their next development stage in their career, with a strong desire to progress in their commercial product management
- Well-developed leadership experience (prior experience leading and coaching a medium-sized team of direct reports)
- Proven ability to achieve budgeted targets and revenue targets with full P&L management with a clear understanding of critical levers
- Previous experience in building and maintaining customer satisfaction through the development of broad customer relationships, including senior management contact (Local, Regional & Headquarters)
- High level of business acumen with a strong ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, influence and present to all levels of the business, including Senior Leadership
- Consultative and influential selling style with an ability to sell technical products
- Agile and proactive with great energy and initiatives with strong confident in presentation

The nature of this role and level of responsibility may require reasonable additional hours over and above 37.5 hours per week and may also require work outside of ordinary hours.
